What are the various Email Tables in PeopleSoft and how are they populated?

Ever wondered how and where email addresses are maintained in PeopleSoft-HCM,

There are four records where email addresses of an emplid are stored.
  1. PS_EMAIL_ADDRESSES
  2. PSOPRDEFN
  3. PSUSEREMAIL
  4. PS_ROLEXLATOPR
How to update these email tables via online?
How does data get saved into the various records in PeopleSoft - HCM?

PS_EMAIL_ADDRESSES:
1) Online Navigation: Self Service > Personal Information > Email Addresses
Page Name: HR_EMAIL_ADDRESSES
Component Name: HR_EMAIL_ADDRESSES

2) Online Navigation: Manager Self Service > Job and Personal Information > Email Addresses (manager's view of email address)
Page Name: HR_EMAIL_ADDRS_MGR
Component Name: HR_EMAIL_ADDRS_MGR


PSOPRDEFN:
1) Online Navigation: PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > User Profiles (page - user_email, comp - usermaint)
Page Name: USER_EMAIL
Component Name: USERMAINT

PSUSEREMAIL:
1) Online Navigation: My System Profile
Page Name: USER_SELF_SERVICE
Component Name: USERMAINT_SELF

2) Online Navigation: PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > User Profiles
Page Name: USER_GENERAL
Component Name: USERMAINT

3) Online Navigation: PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles > Distributed User Profiles
Page Name: USER_GENERAL
Component Name: USERMAINT_DIST

PS_ROLEXLATOPR:
This record cannot be updated through a dedicated online page and component. Instead, by updating User Profile of a user, the email address gets synchronized in this record through peoplecode written from the Application Package - USER_PROFILE.
